January 2004 has been a VERY cold month with low temperatures and correspondingly low turnouts for many hikes.  However it was a sunny Saturday on JAN 24, so the cold didn't deter a good sized group of WGHC members and a few Nordic club members.  The snowshoers in the group were excited about the recent fresh snow while the hikers were happy to follow behind in the path they forged for us. Club members John Whitcomb and Jim Scheib took a few photos to record this great winter hike.

Hike leader Barb Johnson leads the way on some level ground.
A perfect impression of feather prints from a wild turkey landing!
Interesting shadows and filtered light as we wind through the woods.
Strung out as we crest a hill (lots of hill climbing kept us warm!)
