The hike leader is responsible for canceling a hike. If possible, the hike leader should go to the meeting place to inform anyone who shows up that the hike has been canceled. If we are under a severe weather warning, such as impassable roads or extreme cold, the leader is not expected to risk going to the meeting place. The leader should inform the Membership Chairperson and the Trail Blazer or Hike Coordinator if a hike is canceled. The hike leader may consult with Wisconsin Go Hiking Club officers concerning canceling a hike. However, if the hike leader decides to cancel a hike, the hike will be canceled and the decision will not be changed.
