Chocolate Banana Bread

1 cup (2 sticks) margarine, room temperature
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
6 bananas, mashed  (should equal approx. 3 1/2 c)
2 t. vanilla
3 c flour
2 t. baking soda
1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 c. light sour cream
1 c. semisweet chocolate chips  (regular or miniature)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Lightly grease two 9 x 5 loaf pans. 

In bowl, cream together margarine, sugar and eggs.  Stir in bananas and vanilla.  Sift in flour, baking soda, and cocoa; mix well.  Blend in sour cream and chocolate chips.  Pour batter into pans.

Bake 1 hour, or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.

Let cool in pans on rack 10 minutes, then turn out of pans to finish cooling on racks.  Makes 2 loaves. 

This bread freezes very well.
